Transports

Seventeen students chose cars as their mode of transport to get to school, because students in Room 1 Maths live far away, and some of their parents don’t trust them to walk or go in other vehicles. Also, the roads around are dangerous and so if your child bikes to school they will get hurt because of the traffic. Richardson Road and Maioro Road are highways where most of the traffic gathers and leads onto the motorway.

There are five students that walk because their house would be closer to school, their parents might go to work early in the morning, and your child gets good exercise.

Elephants report

Elephants Report Writing
By Sayonara

Elephants are the world’s largest mammals, they live in India and Africa. Elephants are one of the different types of animals in the world, they have huge tusks. Elephants rome around in groups. The oldest female elephant has most status and is called the matriarch.

Family
The male elephant is known as a bull, the female elephant is known as a cow and a baby elephant is known as a calf. Africa and Indian baby elephants are very hairy and can grow up to two feet tall. The word calf is used to describe baby cows and giraffes.
When they live together, they live tightly, the males and females are a family but go their separate ways when the calf is grown up.

Diet
Elephants diets are strange. They eat leaves, twigs, fruits,  bark, and roots. Baby elephants drink their mother's milk. The adult's drinks to about 130.5 liters of water a day. As they drink 130.5 liters the elephants add 40 pounds more.

Features
Elephants can be found in the continent of Africa and Asia. The Indian elephants are smaller, they are less wrinkly and grey, they are small with two small ears, with a huge humped back. Indian elephants have one tip at the end of their trunk to pick up objects. Their trunk can grow up to 11 feet long and their body weighs approximately 400 pounds. African elephants are bigger than Indian elephants. African elephants have big ears and more wrinkly skin. The male and female elephants have tusks that grow up to 11 feet tall with the weight of 1300 pounds. The tusks grow throughout their entire lives.

Trunk
The elephant trunk is known to be good luck. Asian Indian elephants trunks are approximately between 5.5m - 6.5m. The African elephant's trunks are approximately 7 feet long. Indian and African elephants can soak up 8 liters of water into their nostrils and then can blow it into their mouth. For the baby elephants they don’t drink milk directly out of their mother's trunk, they drink out of their mouth. Indian and African elephants parts are used for billiards balls and piano keys.
