Bellbirds Project
Bellbirds
Bellbirds are New Zealand native birds. They live in the native forest. They are 20 centimetres long. Also did you know that the oldest bellbirds is over 8 years old?
Bellbirds are dull coloured olive- black with red eyes. The male bellbird have a purple head and weight 34 grams;but the females weight 26 grams and have an narrow pale stripe from the bill below the eyes.Adult bellbird sometimes make noises with their wings when they fly.
When Bellbirds fly they accentuate the sound during territorial distance. Also Bellbirds have three different sounds to warn the other Bellbirds there is danger coming to them.
Bellbirds live in the native forest. They all live an Oak trees. Also they respect other species of eggs.
Bellbirds eat fruit and insects. Also insects are really important for their females chicks during the breeding season.
I have concluded that Bellbirds are New Zealand natives birds and they also have three different chirping sound. We should also look after the Bellbirds because they belong to New Zealand and they are special.
